Agreement: By using the Lockette application or services, you agree to these
Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our service.
1. Service Description
Lockette provides privacy-preserving age verification services using zero-knowledge cryptographic proofs. Our service allows users to prove they meet age requirements (e.g., 18+, 21+, 25+) without revealing their identity or exact birth date.
2. Eligibility
To use Lockette, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
- Have a valid government-issued identity document
- Have a compatible mobile device
- Agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy
3. Account and Device Registration
- You may only register one device per person for verification
- You must provide accurate information during the verification process
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device
- You must notify us immediately if you believe your verification has been compromised
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security features
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Share or transfer your verification to another person
- Attempt to verify using false or fraudulent identity documents
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
- Use automated systems or bots to interact with our service
- Attempt to extract or harvest data from our systems
5. Verification Process
- Verification requires in-person validation by an authorized Lockette validator
- Validators are independent entities and follow our verification protocols
- We reserve the right to decline verification for any reason
- Verification status may expire and require re-verification
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Lockette are owned by Lockette and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our software
- Use our trademarks without permission
- Create derivative works based on our technology
7. Privacy
Your use of Lockette is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. Key points:
- We use zero-knowledge proofs to protect your privacy
- We do not store personally identifiable information on our servers
- Biometric data never leaves your device
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- CONTINUOUS, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SECURE ACCESS
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCKETTE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the service
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lockette, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent activity
- Any reason at our sole discretion
Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes through the app or our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lockette operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through:
- Good faith negotiation
- Mediation (if negotiation fails)
- Binding arbitration (as a last resort)
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
